Summing up the enigmatic [Lye Lovett] in a few sentences is difficult in the extreme. Classed as a country singer, since launching his debut album in the middle eighties his music has regularly explored folk, swing, jazz and gospel.
Oklahoma-raised [TJ McFarland] moved to LA to lay the foundation for what would become his first musical project produced by Pride Hutchison and Michael Dumas. Enlisting the talents of Dwight Yoakam's and Lucinda Williams' bands along with other notables including Waddy Wachtel, 11 songs (all written or co-written by McFarland) were recorded. The result, according to Explosive Records partner Scott Hutchison, is an eclectic mix of folk, rock and West-coast country, stylistically between Blonde on Blonde-era Dylan and Exile on Main Street-era Stones.
[Michelle White] delivers an earthy, passionate brand of music that reflects her spin on a truly unique blend of American influences. John Leventhal (whose producing and writing credits include Shawn Colvin's Grammy award winning CD, Sunny Came Home) appears on her CD, as well as her father, who is legendary singer/ songwriter/ guitarist Tony Joe White (the classics Rainy Night in Georgia and Polk Salad Annie ). Her fiery and raw stage performance has been compared to that of Janis Joplin or 'a young Mick Jagger'. Her writing has been compared to J.J. Cale and Rickie Lee Jones.

[Kevin Montgomery] grew up on Nashville's Music Row. Kevin's own music is strongly influenced by the 'California Country-Rock' of artists like Gram Parsons, The Eagles, and Roger McGuinn, his deeply resonant songwriting recalls the Americana-flavored storytelling of Bruce Springsteen and Jackson Browne.
[Jack Sundrud] is best known as the 'new boy' in Poco, despite having played bass in the seminal seventies country-rock band for more than 17 years! As well as being an accomplished singer-songwriter, Jack is involved in a number of side projects, including production work. Hard Country is a tale of rural America taken from his album By My Own Hand.
[Elizabeth Cook] is absolute pure country sunshine. Opry ... with an edge. Like her great influence Dolly Parton, she has transcended her sassy and glamorous image, and her sense of humour has an underlying steely sense of knowing exactly what she is doing. Sometimes It Take Balls To Be A Woman is taken from her new album, produced by Rodney Crowell.
