Die Rascal Flatts - In den USA füllen Sie die Stadien, in Europa weitestgehend unbekannt. Vielleicht weil Ihnen der "Makel" Country anhängt. Dabei haben sich Künstlerinnen dieses Genres doch schon seit geraumer Zeit in Europa etabliert. Von Shania Twain über LeAnn Rimes bis Faith Hill, nur die Männer um Keith Urban, Tim McGraw und Garth Brooks tun sich schwer in unseren Gefilden. Dan Huff (Faith Hill, Keith Urban) - hat die CD perfekt, jedoch mit etwas viel Bombast produziert. Er steht auch für die exzellente Gitarrenarbeit des Albums. Bereits in der ersten Woche wurde die CD über 700.000 mal in den USA verkauft. "What hurts the most" eine Ballade die mancher hiesigen Radiostation gut zu Gesicht stehen würde. Die Texte kommen manchmal etwas pathetisch...

aber die Musik hat das Potential sich wie ein Loop in den Gehörgängen fest zu setzen. Exzellenter Harmoniegesang, die Ballade dominiert, da kommt mir die US Version von "Me and my Gang" gerade recht. Sie erhielt den Titletrack "Life is a highway" aus dem Pixar Film "Cars" als Bonus. Das tut dem Album gut. Als krönender Abschluss wird der Puderzucker aus den Boxen geblasen. Laut hören!
