PEACE OF MIND
(Peter Friestedt / Bill Cantos)
I could try to be unhappy
Look for sorrow, sure I'd find a lot
Take a walk through my circumstance
And complain about what I haven't got
But I refuse to play that game today
I won't cry, tell you why
I've got a peace of mind
Going beyond my understanding
Peace of mind
Now that I hold it in my hands
I'd be a fool to let it go
Light a torch or curse the darkness
Right away I know which one I'd choose
Let the world say I'll never win
With love I've found, I could never loose
If the walls all come tumbling down
I won't cry, tell you why
I've got peace of mind
Going beyond my understanding
Peace of mind
No matter what this life demands
It took me a while to find
But now that I hold it in my hand
I'd be a fool to let it go
Deep in the night, there can be tears
Over the years that slipped away
But with the coming light of day
I say
Somebody wants to bring you joy
Hold on for the joy
I've got a peace of mind
Going beyond my understanding
Peace of mind
No matter what this life demands
It took me a while to find
But now that I hold it in my hand
I'd be a fool to let it go
