Und wiederum geht es mir wie bei allen John Farnham Platten. Absolute Knaller wechseln sich mit Mittelmaß ab. 33 1/3 erinnert mich an Huey Lewis Four chords Album. Stax und Sam and Dave songs - ein paar Oldie Klassiker und neue Songs ergeben ein stark R'n'B und Philly Sound orientiertes Album. Nach wie vor unvergleichlich ist John Farnhams Stimme. The Voice - nicht ohne Grund trägt er diesen Namen.
Australiens Superstar ist mittlerweile 50 Jahre alt. Shelley Devine - Frankies eMail Bekanntschaft aus Australien schrieb am Tag nach seinem Konzertbesuch in Melbourne: "Es war fantastisch, die Stimme von 'the voice' verfehlte nie einen Ton und schon immer war er der beste entertainer. Die Bühne sah spektakulär aus. Riesige Monitore zeigten Images im Zusammenhang mit seinen Songs. John sang nahezu jeden Song aus seinem Album 33 1/3, all seine Hits seiner letzten 5 Alben, zuzüglich einiger Songs der frühen Farnham Ära wie "Looking through a tear". Ausserdem erzählte er einige schlechte Witze. Jede Minute des Konzerts war ein Genuss"
Zurück zu seinem Album. Die Songqualität rangiert wirklich zwischen Mittelmaß und Spitzenklasse.
Shelley's Lieblingssongs sind: "Soul Reason" und "You're the only
one".
Meine Favoriten sind: "Soul Reason," ein bluesiger Song
"Trying to Live My Life Without You," ein mid-tempo rocker
"Man of the hour" John Farnham typische vocals
"You're the only one"
Insgesamt ein gutes Album, letztendlich trifft die Vorgänger CD "Romeo's Heart" doch eher meinen Geschmack.

Once more there's the same problem as with every John Farnham CD. Jewels take turns with mean songs. 33 1/3 reminds me of Huey Lewis Four chords Album. Stax und Sam and Dave songs - a few Oldie classics and new Songs - an R'n'B and Philly Sound orientierted Album is the result. Good as ever is John Farnhams incredible voice. Not without a cause he bears the name "The Voice".
Shelley Devine - Frankies eMail acquaintance from Australia wrote the following sentences one day after visiting John Farnhams concert in Melbourne:
"It was fantastic, the voice never misses and he is always the best entertainer. The stage looked spectacular with massive screens at the back showing various images relevant to the songs. John sang nearly every song from 33 1/3, he sang all the hits from his past 5 albums, plus a few songs from the early Farnham years like "Looking through a tear". He even through in a few corny jokes, as he likes to do!!! I thourarly enjoyed every minute of the concert."

Overall a good Album, but in my opinion "Romeo's Heart" is the better pick.
